Internet MBA
Is the UF Internet MBA Program Right for Me?
Ten years ago, the UF MBA Program was one of the first schools to offer a fully accredited online degree. Today we are known as the world’s best, since we were ranked #1 by The Economist.
- Is there a possibility you might have to relocate during your MBA experience?
- Do you have an extensive travel schedule?
- Do your personal or professional commitments take up most of your weekends?
If you answered yes to any of the questions above, the Internet MBA Program is the option for you. Pilots, doctors and media executives are just some of the professionals that have found this format beneficial. This innovative program uses the latest in Internet technology to provide students with a truly interactive learning experience.
You only have to come to the Gainesville campus once per term (once every four months) for a Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will end your term and you will take final exams or deliver final presentations. On Sunday you will meet your new faculty members and begin your next term. This offers you the best of both worlds – an extremely flexible class format that still provides in-person interactions and connections with classmates, faculty and the school.
Orientation is mandatory to participate in all program options. The planned activities for orientation weekend include a welcoming from staff and faculty, reception, program details, Ropes and Challenge course, and Team Development. Additionally, if you are participating in the One Year accelerated format, following Orientation is a planned One week review course, Foundations Review. This is a mandatory review week of your core business concepts and is a requirement prior to moving into the 32 credit accelerated program. Please note that the Foundations Review is not required for concurrent OEM/MBA students. Review the class dates and course schedule PDFs.
Same MBA Degree
The degree earned at the completion of the program is a full Master of Business Administration, equivalent to any other MBA degree offered by the University of Florida MBA Programs. This has also made the Internet options our most competitive programs, since we attract students from all over the world.
Internet MBA Options
The UF MBA Program has two Internet Program options:
- Two-year Option - The Two-year Option (27 months) is open to any undergraduate degree major.
- One-year Option - The One-year Option offers a 16-month accelerated program for business degree majors who graduated within the last seven years. UF is one of a select few programs in the world with such an option. View the eligibility checklist for this program.
Both options require two years of full-time, professional work experience.
Our Internet MBA students come from all over the world and from a variety of organizations - Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, non-profits and more. To ensure quality interactions among students and professors, class size is limited to 65 students.
MBA/OEM Concurrent Degree
Students who enroll in the Outreach Engineering Management Program (OEM) in the University of Florida's College of Engineering are able to obtain an engineering Master's degree in 20 months while working full-time and are then eligible to apply for the Internet One-year MBA program. Our innovative OEM/I1MBA concurrent degree option reduces the amount of time and coursework required for students to obtain both the MBA and the OEM degree from UF.
