Full-Time MBA: One-Year — Business Majors
Candidates who graduated with an undergraduate degree in business within the past seven years are eligible for enrollment in our One-Year — Business Majors. This unique, fast-track program allows you to accelerate your studies and earn an MBA in only 10 months. One-Year — Business Majors begins each June and is tailored for students who want to build on an already extensive business background, both professionally and academically.
The curriculum for this program is front-loaded to provide you with valuable knowledge earlier in your academic experience. This structure also offers the ability to jump right into elective courses after the summer semester, which gives you the advantage of taking specialized courses prior to the fast-paced interview season.
One-Year Business Majors students have access to all the resources UF MBA offers, including holding leadership positions, attending national career fairs and taking full advantage of our team of experienced Graduate Business Career Advisors.

The curriculum for the One-Year — Business Majors program eliminates most core courses completed at the undergraduate level and instead allows you to focus more quickly on the skills demanded by your chosen career. Students in the One-Year — Business Majors program join the second-year and One-Year — Business Majors program students for elective courses during the fall and spring semesters. The UF MBA elective courses offer the opportunity for you to focus on areas specific to your career path, while also earning concentrations and certificates. Typically, students take three to four total courses per module.
During the summer term, your small cohort will engage in an intensive series of courses that are critical for all MBA students. These courses will best prepare you for the elective courses you will select in the fall and spring semesters. Graduate course descriptions provide more information on these courses.

In the fall and spring semesters, you will join the rest of your graduating class Two-Year and One-Year students to complete 8 electives, the Career Accelerator Program course and the Strategic Management capstone course, to complete the 32 credits.

Orientation is a required program that takes place prior to the start of Summer B classes. Orientation is a critical part of the MBA experience that introduces you to the key areas of our program that are vital to your success inside and outside the classroom. Foundations Review is a one week refresher of the core business courses taken during your undergraduate academic career, and includes: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Operations Management and Excel. You will meet your classmates, teammates, faculty, advisors and staff. Additionally, you will learn about the culture and traditions that make UF MBA great!
What to expect
- We kick off with an informal breakfast and welcome from our staff, faculty and current students.
- On Academic Day, we cover the curriculum, case study methodology, faculty expectations and training on our technology interfaces.
- During Career Development Day, you will be introduced to our career development process, and hear from corporate partners on what they're looking for from a UF MBA graduate.
- The Challenge Course Day is everyone's favorite. Cohorts really get to know each other while working together on the campus challenge course.
- Networking events include a reception, activities hosted by our current UF MBA students and a panel discussion and luncheon with alumni.
Please plan to participate in Orientation activities during business hours each day and during the evenings of Monday and Friday. Spouses and partners are welcome to the networking event on Friday night.
